KNOWN HISTORY: Kat was brought in without information on his behavior in his previous home. A neighbor has been caring for him. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Calm, not trying to escape. Did try to retreat when given vaccines. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage recently cleaned Reaction to assessor: Kat meows softly and remains calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kat looks at the assessor and meows softly again. Reaction to cage door opening: Kat remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Kat sniffs the assessor’s hand and lowers her head for petting. She accepts gentle strokes and lifts her rear when touched along her back, purring and leaning in for more rubs. Reaction to being picked up: Kat is tense during pick up, but allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow, Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet, Affectionate BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Kat interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
