09/04/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kal was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. His finder reports he was found inside a building with 13 other cats. The finder was able to place him inside a carrier and bring him to the care center. He allowed handling upon intake and during his initial medical exam, although he was a little tense. Reaction to assessor: Kal was sitting upright, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kal looks at the assessor, and then looks around. Reaction to cage door opening: Kal becomes alert, but remains calm. Reaction to touch: Kal sniffs the assessor’s hand, but lowers his head in anticipation of touch. He allows petting, but his ears tilt sideways, he lip licks, and his body is very tense. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Kal tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
