Kady does like baths and will struggle and try to run out of the tub. During nail Trim Kady will hiss and struggle out of the hold. Kady likes to scratch on the leather couch. He was described and Playful and affectionate with a high activity level. He likes paying with ball toys and wand toys. Kady is feed dry and wet food twice a day, and is litter box trained and uses an uncovered box with clay litter.

04/10/17
Laying low crouched against back of the kennel. Does not respond when spoken to. Ears tilt when approached. Eyes close when pet along head – tolerates gentle petting on head and sniffs hand towards the end of interaction. Needs more time to adjust.
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: No change
Reaction to assessor: Kady was tense and pressed up against the back wall of the kennel.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Kady’s ears rotate, he squints and he doesn’t get up or come forward when coaxed.
Reaction to cage door opening: Kady is alert and remains motionless.
Reaction to touch: Kady lowers his head and closes his eyes when the assessor extends his hand out. His body feels very tense/stiff and he doesn’t seem that open to interact. He lip licks throughout the interaction and watches the assessor’s hand when pet along his back.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Skittish
POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:
– Fearful – Kady has displayed fearful behavior during their stay in the care center and may dislike certain types of handling. A fearful cat will feel more relaxed when given options, so provide him with the chance to move closer, investigate, or interact with you. Be sure to offer incentive such as treats or play time whenever the cat makes a small positive step. Please speak to an adoption counselor for additional information on methods to desensitize your cat to their fear stimulus.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
– Experienced, adult home only – Kady tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home who understands this cat may need time to warm up to his new home and family at his own pace.

Tense/stiff body pressed up against the back of the kennel. Feint sleeps when spoken to softly. He lowers his head and closes his eyes when attempting to pet him. Nervous kitty, lip licks and slowly inches away. Low body posture, keeps tail wrapped up. Looks uncomfortable. Sprayed feliway.
04/12/17
Laying in back of kennel with a low body. Slow blinks when spoken to. He wraps his tail around his body as the cage door opens, licking his lips and watching my hand as I approach to pet his head and body. He tolerates all petting with a tense body. He comes forward to smell the tuna in my hand and eats it from my glove. Needs some more time to adjust. Sprayed Feliway.
04/13/17
Is lying in back of kennel with a relaxed body. Slow blinks when spoken to and stretches out arms. Kady lifts his head and his ears flatten when the door opens. When I approach he gets up and moves to the other corner of the kennel with a low body. He allows me to touch his head and relaxes with a couple of soft head strokes, head-butting my hand gently. Still nervous but doing better – starting to accept touch. Sprayed feliway.
