09/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jux was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was very fearful upon intake, hissing and swatting when handling was attempted. She was also very nervous during her initial medical exam and attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Jux was lying down, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jux looks at the assessor briefly, and then averts her gaze with her ears tilted sideways. Reaction to cage door opening: Jux becomes stiff and alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Jux hisses when touched and her ears pin flat against her head. She remains immobile and wraps her tail tightly against her body, but is tolerant of gentle petting on her head and body. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Jux tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
