***SAFE 08/30/16*** JUSTICE AND HOUSEMATE, HARMONY A1084935 (NOT LISTED – BUT STILL IN NEED!!!) WERE OUTRIGHT DUMPED BECAUSE THE FORMER OWNER IS…IN A WORD… SELFISH!!! How does one have 2 senior cats, and then move WITHOUT finding adequate housing that would accept cats? THEN to add insult to injury, the owner dropped them off at a shelter that will kill 7 year old JUSTICE if a FOSTER OR ADOPTER is not found! He’s NEUTERED and all ready to go…go get him!!! And HARMONY TOO! THERE ARE TOO MANY CATS IN NEED AND NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE STANDING UP!!!! OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT AVERAGE RATED JUSTICE TODAY!

8/23/16 Sneezing noted on rounds yesterday. Pt moved to iso, start doxycycline 0.8 ml PO SID x10 days. 1088 —- 8/10/16 Sex: Male neutered Scan: Positive Estimated age: 7 years based on our records Fleas: No flea dirt. S: Quiet, gently tries to sneak away during the exam but allows full exam and vx O: QAR-H, BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Mild gingivitis. PLNs: Not enlarged. H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds. Abd: Soft, no pain on palpation, no masses palpated M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted. UG: Male neutered A: Mild gingivitis Short-term prognosis: Excellent P: 1. Administered 0.9 ml pyrantel during exam 2. 8/10/16 19:29 Basic information: Justice A0846713 a 7 year old male domestic short hair mix and Harmony A1084935 a 10 year old female domestic shorthair mix were both brought in as owner surrendered cats. The owner surrendered Justice and Harmony because she is moving to a place that does not allow pets. Justice and Harmony have no health problems and the owner took them to a vet earlier this year. Socialization: The owner states that around strangers both Justice and Harmony are friendly and outgoing. Justice and Harmony have not lived with children, but around adults they are gentle and love to play. Justice and Harmony have lived together for year and got along very well with each other. They have never been around dogs so the owner has no idea how Justice and Harmony would react around them. They have never bitten or scratched anyone. Behavior: Justice and Harmony have never been bathed, had their nails trimmed. They do not mind having their coats brushed, being picked up but have never been placed in a cat carriers. For a new family to know: The owner describes Justice and Harmony as friendly and playful cats with a medium activity levels. Justice and Harmony have never played with toys; they live mostly indoors and sleeps anywhere in the house that they wants. In the home Justice and Harmony will follow the owner around and prefers to stay in same room as the owner. Justice and Harmony eats various brand name dry cat foods and are fed two times a day. They are litter box trained and uses separate uncovered litter box with clumping litter. Justice and Harmony have never been given a scratching post so the owner does not know if they will use it or not. Behavior during intake: During intake Justice and Harmony were somewhat tense with stiff bodies. They both allowed us to scan (Justice + Harmony -) put on collar, photographed and placed in separate cat kennels.

The former owner stated that around strangers Justice is friendly and outgoing. Justice has not lived with children, but around Harmony (the cat) and adults. He is gentle and love to play. Justice and Harmony have lived together for a year and got along very well with each other. Reaction to assessor: Justice looks neutral, lying down on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Justice remains in place, relaxed body posture, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Justice began to roll over then head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Justice interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
