Safe - 3-1-2016 Brooklyn Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
***SAFE 03/01/16*** Poor JUNIE with eyes as big as saucers, came into the shelter as scared as he can be! In the memo “he” is referred to as “she”, but that’s not a shock, seeing how the ACC almost never is accurate. This one year old is going to need a RESCUE to pull him AND a foster or adopter to contact a New Hope rescue to get JUNIE out! Please, make the call, and save JUNIE from death row!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Junie and at the time he was at the back hiding behind bedding. Junie hisses when you approach. He tolerates petting on head but is very nervous. Junie eyes are focused on all movements. Reaction to assessor: Junie does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Junie starts to growls Reaction to door cage opening: Junie leans away from the cage opening Reaction to touch: Junie leans aways to avoid touch with his ears back while hissing. Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Junie seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment Junie was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Junie may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate much petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
