KNOWN HISTORY: Junie’s previous owner reports he did not live with children and his behavior is unknown. Junie did live with another cat and was relaxed and respectful around them. Junie played gently with the other cat but did like to chase her through he house. He lived with a dog for a brief time and stayed hidden around the dog. Junie was described as relaxed shy and mellow with a low activity level. When home with Junie she will follow you around. Junie enjoyed playing with laser pointers. Junie is box trained and used an uncovered litter box with sand litter. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior -calm, allows exam Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Junie was resting, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Junie looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Junie becomes alert, but remains in place and appears calm. Reaction to touch: Junie sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. He leans in for cheek rubs, arches his body, and lifts his rear when pet along his lower back. He comes forward and rubs his head against the assessor after. Reaction to being picked up: Junie is a bit tense during pick up (possibly because he’s a big boy), but allows handling and remains calm. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm Sweet Affectionate POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: None BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Average Behavior Asilomar H – Healthy BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Junie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
