Lying in back of kennel with a low body, head resting against the floor. He maintains low body posture when spoken to and allows touch along his head and body without offering much of a response. Not interested in treats today. Needs more time to adjust – appears to be shut down.

Lying in back of kennel with a low body, head resting against kennel floor. He avoids eye contact and blinks when spoken to. He tolerates petting along his head and body with flat ears, remaining in a low body position with his head against the floor. Doesn’t show interest in treats, toys or further interaction.
05/05/17
Lies down flat across the back of the kennel. Seems very dull and doesn’t react at all when spoken to softly. Remains completely motionless when the door opens and doesn’t mind being touched/petted. Body feels tense, Doesn’t seem to enjoy or dislike being pet/rubbed. Just lies there completely immobile throughout the entire interaction. Tense body when picked up, quickly leaped back in the kennel and retreated to the back.
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back
VOCAL: Quiet
CHARACTER TYPE: Independent
POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:
Fearful has displayed fearful behavior during their stay in the care center and may dislike certain types of handling. A fearful cat will feel more relaxed when given options, so provide him with the chance to move closer, investigate, or interact with you. Be sure to offer incentive such as treats or play time whenever the cat makes a small positive step.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Experienced cat parent – Juice may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
