Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Josie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Josie is hiding in the feral den and makes eye contact with the assessor. Reaction when softly spoken to: Josie hisses and strikes from within the feral den. Reaction to cage door opening: Josie remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Josie doesn’t come forward when called and will come out of the den attempting to swat. She currently doesn’t allow any handling. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Josie is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
