Subjective: BARH
Observed Behavior – Will flee. When approached in cage hissed, spit, swatted, and bit towel.
Evidence of Cruelty seen – no
Evidence of Trauma seen – no

R = eupneic
BCS 4/9
EENT: Eyes have mild serous d/c ou, ears clean, serous/mucoid nasal discharge noted
Oral Exam: kitten dentition
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupneic
ABD: tense non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: MI
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, dirty hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment:
Underage
URI with mild conjunctivitis
Plan: Continue to monitor while at BACC
Move to iso
Start doxycycline 10mg/kg PO SID x10d until 12/9-first dose given
Gave one dose of erythromycin OU-may need more in future but did not currently prescribe because of behavior
Recheck in 7 days
Prognosis: Good
SURGERY: temporary waiver from surgery due to underage and illness
Enrichment:
11/30/17:
Lying in back of kennel with a tense body, ears flat. Makes and maintains eye contact. Retreats back and forth through portal to avoid touch, body low and tail tucked. Hisses. Very nervous – needs more time to adjust. Sprayed feliway.
