***SAFE 08/19/17*** CALM, ATTENTION-SEEKING, AND FRIENDLY JORDAN IS HOPING SOMEONE WILL GIVE HIM A FUREVER HOME TONIGHT! JORDAN was found on someone’s porch – after taking him in, they noticed blood on floor so brought to shelter. * FELV POSITIVE STATUS IS QUESTIONABLE – TESTED NEGATIVE AFTER 2 TESTS STATING LITE POSITIVE* He has hematuria ( blood in urine) and needs further medical eval. HE is already neutered and most likely someone’s abandoned pet. Please help this kitty. JORDAN DESERVES A CHANCE FOR A HAPPY ENDING – AND YOU CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN BY RESERVING HIM BY NOON!!

08/14/17 12:14 Jordan is a white DSH that was found wandering loose outside,. Finder had Jordan for a couple of days and described him, as lethargic. Jordan did not interact with any other animals or children while with finder. Jordan did not have a litter box and went to the bathroom in the house. Jordan was well behaved and did scratch on anything. During intake Jordan was calm. Jordan enjoyed being pet by the counselor and would lean into their hands. Jordan allowed to be scanned and collared with a loose body. Jordan allowed all handling.

08/14/2017 DVM INTAKE PHYSICAL EXAM
Medical rating was 5 C – SEVERE CONDITIONS , behavior rating was NONE
DVM Intake Exam Estimated age: 2-4yrs Microchip noted on Intake? no History : Surrendered to Queens shelter. Surrenderer reports finding cat on his front porch and taking him in for a few days. In this time period he has been lethargic, not really E/D, and there was blood seen on the floor and in the carrier. Subjective: Cat is Q/BARH. Observed Behavior – At front of carrier. Little restraint required for exam. Vocalizes on abdominal palpation, but does not escalate to aggression. Evidence of Cruelty seen – no Evidence of Trauma seen – no Objective T = NA P = wnl R = wnl BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Healthy adult dentition; Grade 0-1/4 dental dz PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Soft, but cat vocalizes during palpation like uncomfortable U/G: bladder is large, but not firm and easily expressed; there is gross hematuria; cat also appears to be leaking some urine on his own MSI: Ambulatory x 4, flea dirt (removed flea collar), no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Assessment: FeLV – came up light positive on 1st test, re-tested and was still light positive on 2nd test. Hematuria DDx: FLUTD/FIC, Crystalluria, UTI, Trauma, Open Plan: Seek NH placement. Keep in medical to monitor urination, appetite, hydration, etc. Did not perform urine dipstick due to gross hematuria may skew results and will not change course of treatment. Gave 0.51 mLs Convenia SQ to cover for UTI. Start on buprenorphine 0.3mg/mL – 0.34 mLs buccally or IM q12h and Prazosin 1mg – 1 cap PO q12h; cat was given 1st dose of each. Consider bloodwork +/- SQ fluids +/- Cerenia & Famotidine if cat is not E/D by tomorrow. Prognosis: Poor SURGERY: Already neutered
