I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/11/2017 from NY 10029, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-103893.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Sweet, Affectionate MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 7/12/17- Subjective: Curled up in carrier – leans into head pets ENRICHMENT NOTES: 7/12/17 Ear mites. Recently moved to new cage downstairs. Laying at very back, eyes fully dilated, tense posture. Lay in place when door opened. Sniffed treats, began to eat very slowly. Arched into pets, but kept tail tucked. 7/13/17 Crouched in litter box, eyes dilated. Briefly leaned away, then sniffed hand, head-butted, leaned and arched into pets! Still a little tense, but braver today. Ate offered treats. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Joliet remains neutral, lying down on her cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: Joliet remains wide eyes, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Joliet slowly engages with tail up then began to sniff the assessor’s hand while she solicits attention and purrs. Reaction to being picked up: She becomes antsy then jumps back into the cage. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Joliet interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Eyes clear, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Very clean adult teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Female, no spay scar palpable, presumed intact MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally Assessment: Likely ear mites Plan: Cleaned ears and administered Tresaderm during exam – clean ears q3 days x3 more cleanings and give Tresaderm AU BID x10 days Prognosis: Excellent SURGERY: Okay for surgery 1088
