Observed Behavior – Fractious – Severe injury to ear – very painful
Evidence of Cruelty seen – None
Evidence of Trauma seen – None

EENT: Eyes clear, no nasal discharge noted
pale mm
dehydrated > 5%
OS larvae and occult blood, necrotic tissue @pinna
Oral Exam: NAD
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated
U/G: Female
MSI: Ambulatory x 4, no masses noted, flea dirt, hair coat healthy
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities **
Rectal: Not performed
Assessment – Severe ear wound, infection, requires ER management and tx
Rec TECA
Plan – Intake, 0.27mL Convenia SQ; 0.16 Meloxicam SQ; 200mL SQ Fluids; Telazol – 0.1 mL IM administered (0.15 drawn up)
Prognosis: Poor > Good if medical management provided
SURGERY: Waive – medical
