08/31/16 14:39 Animal’s appearance – Kitten appeared slight dirty but of healthy weight. Animal’s demeanor with you – Kitten was in a trap. No handling, Kitten was transferred directly from trap to den. Kitten displayed no aggression during transfer. Client stated that the park is overrun with stray cats and multiple people are feeding them which isn’t favorable for the park. Traps were set and this kitten amongst 3 other cats were captured and brought to SIACC.

Jimmy Jazz came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Jimmy Jazz was not handled. Reaction to assessor: Jimmy Jazz is lying mid-cage, sleeping. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jimmy Jazz remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to cage door opening: Jimmy Jazz picks head up and looks at the assessor. Reaction to touch: Jimmy Jazz begins to purr, leans into petting. Reaction to pick up: Jimmy Jazz immediately steps down from assessor’s arms. Placement Determination: Average Jimmy Jazz does not approach the assessor, but appreciates petting and allows all handling. Jimmy Jazz is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents.
