**SAFE 08/10/16** SECOND CHANCE FOR JERSEY!! AND FINALLY A PICTURE TOO!! NO PIC the last time he was listed, JERSEY has one tonight and he’s gorgeous!! By the way, JERSEY earned a respectable EXPNOCHILD rating on his evaluation. JERSEY has lived through his 72-hour stray hold and apparently, that’s as much time and effort as the ACC is willing to spare on him. Please find time in YOUR schedule to advocate widely for JERSEY tonight!

08/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jersey was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. Reaction to assessor: Jersey was curled up in the litter box. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jersey comes forward and sniffs the assessor’s hand with his tail lowered. Reaction to cage door opening: Jersey remains neutral. Reaction to touch: Jersey stress meows and leans his head in for rubs. He tail slowly rises up when pet along his body and she gives light head butts. When the assessor backed away he hissed and raised his paw as a warning. Jersey appreciates attention but is still unsure of contact. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Jersey tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
