KNOWN HISTORY: Jeno was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. He was easy to handle during intake and was placed inside a cat den without any issues. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Behavior: tense in carrier but allowed all handling and warmed quickly, enjoyed petting. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Jeno was resting upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jeno does not respond and is fast asleep. Reaction to cage door opening: Jeno wakes and looks around with dilated eyes. Reaction to touch: Jeno meows and accepts petting, allowing gentle strokes on his head and body. He slowly gets up and lifts his rear when pet along his rear. Reaction to pick up: Jeno remains calm and allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Jeno interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
