KNOWN HISTORY: Jazzberry was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. He was receptive to handling during intake and allowed the counselor to pick him up and hold him. He had a relaxed body posture and was wandering around. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – Very easy to handle. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Jazzberry was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jazzberry looks at the assessor with soft shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Jazzberry remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jazzberry accepts petting and pushes his head up against the assessor’s hand. He leans over, begins to purr, and closes his eyes. Reaction to pick up: Jazzberry remains soft and continues to purr when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Playful BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Jazzberry interacts with the observer, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
