***SAFE 07/02/17*** BEAUTIFUL JASMIN IS SOCIAL SWEET AND CURIOUS!! A volunteer writes: Who is that meowing at me from a cat condo from across the room? It’s gorgeous Jasmin, the queen of the Care Center at the moment, a regal, longish-haired beauty with a Persian-like face and the markings of a black and white cookie. Once she grabbed my attention and beckoned me over, she was quiet, calm, and totally easygoing; she’s a very friendly and human-loving lady who wants to be acknowledged but doesn’t need a lot of one-on-one playtime. I fell in love with her royal attitude and confidence, and she in turn seemed happy and confident to have a human subject to rule over for a while. Let Jasmin be the queen of your castle by adopting her today!
Jasmin is a beautiful kitty that was surrendered due to pet health. Her owner has reported that she has been urinating inappropriately. This kitty needs to be evaluated by a vet. MUST RESERVE BY NOON!!

She has a medium activity level. Other notes: This cat is known to meow a lot when she wants attention and likes to walk out of the house when she sees the door open. She likes to follow you around when home and be in the same room as you and likes to play with catnip toys. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Docile, allows all handling EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Jasmin was by the front, calm and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jasmin gets up and sniffs around, curious. Reaction to cage door opening: Jasmin remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jasmin was a bit hesitant, but she sniffs the assessor’s hand and accepts petting. She leans in for cheek rubs, begins to purr, and then she will look around at her surroundings. Reaction to being picked up: Jasmin was a bit tense, but she remained calm when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet, Curious POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: – Inappropriate elimination – Jasmin’s previous owners report that she was outside the litter box. She was seen by a veterinarian and has no known medical issues. The previous owners report trying different types of litter boxes and changing the litter, but the inappropriate elimination behavior has continued. We advise potential adopters to be aware that this behavior may continue in a home environment, and that they be comfortable with management and modification techniques for this behavioral challenge. She has been noted to use her litter box during her stay in the care center, however. RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent – Jasmin interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Although she is displaying behaviors appropriate for cat parents with an average amount of experience, because she was reported to have litter box accidents, we we recommend she go to a home with experienced cat parents.
