KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: an adult Behavior toward strangers: friendly and outgoing Behavior toward children: friendly, affectionate and respectful Behavior toward cats: unknown Behavior toward dogs: unknown Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Energy level/descriptors: high activity level MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Alert, allows minimal handling but very tense and tries to twist and jump away from restraint EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Jaime looks neutral, crouched position on his cage bedding when approached by the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Jaime remains in place, alert with eyes wandering. Reaction to touch: Jaime accepts the touch then slowly began to lean in to the assessor’s hand, but becomes agitated along the back and swats with no claws. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Shy, Curious RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent Jaime tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.

DVM Intake Exam Findings History Owner surrender, no medical hx given. Subjective Alert, allows minimal handling but very tense and tries to twist and jump away from restraint Objective BCS 5/9, MMs pink. Temp 102.2. EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: Moderate tartar H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Severely distended, semifirm. U/G: Female. Purulent vaginal discharge. No mammary development. MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, some fur is loose and pt needs to be groomed CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Not performed. Quick lateral radiograph – very large tubular fluid-filled uterus displacing all other organs. Food in stomach. Assessment: 1. Open pyometra 2. Dental disease Plan: 1.
