History: intake 9/27-pea sized vaginal mass and dental disease. On round 10/7 one episode of diarrhea was noted S: BARH. Good appetite. No c/s/v/d noted in cage O: EENT: No nasal or ocular d/c L: No c/s A: Pea sized vaginal mass r/o benign vs malignant Dental disease One episode diarrhea 10/7 P: Monitor for diarrhea tomorrow Rec histopath of vaginal mass with placement/adoption Rec dental Good prognosis depending on vaginal mass

URI noted on rounds S/O: QAR. Attention seeking. Eating well EENT: Eyes clear (very slight iris atrophy), no ocular discharge, moderate serous/seromucoid nasal discharge HL: Sneezing, normal RR/RE A: URI P: Rec doxycycline 0.6ml PO q24 x 10 days (until 10/19)

KNOWN HISTORY: Jaede was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior history or tendencies in a home environment. The counselor was able to pick her up and put her in a carrier during intake. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Observed Behavior – allows exam, tries to sneak away. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 09/28/17 Lying in back of kennel, body tense and ears flattened. Tolerates petting initially while hissing, then turns head to smell my hand. Begins to vocalize softly and lift butt into the air when pet along the back. She leans in gently with continued petting and her ears shift forward. Vocalizing softly after interaction has ended. Some conflicted behaviors – needs some more time to adjust. Has potential to warm up. 10/1/2017 Sitting crouched in center of kennel, face tense and tail wrapped around body. She tolerates petting along her head and body while remaining still, then begins to lean in gently with her head and shoulders after a few minutes. Raises rear when my hand passes along her back. She comes forward for treats and gobbles them up. Vocalizing softly in front of her kennel after interaction has ended. Has potential to continue to warm up here. Did well today! Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Jaede looks at the assessor, and then looks around. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jaede looks in the assessor’s direction, but has a low gaze and meows very softly. Reaction to cage door opening: Jaede remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Jaede meows softly and sniffs the assessor’s hand. She was a bit hesitant, but she accepts petting and lifts her rear when stroked along her back. She seems wary of her surroundings, but also seems to appreciate attention. Reaction to being picked up: Jaede remains calm and allows handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Somewhat chatty CHARACTER TYPE: Shy Sweet Affectionate POTENTIAL CHALLENGES: None BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Average Behavior Asilomar H – Healthy RECOMMENDATIONS: None BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Jaede interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
