I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/15/2017 from NY 11365, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER SICK. I came in with Group/Litter #K17-100983.

06/18/17 15:52 VET CHECK – MONITOR CONDITION — GERIATRIC, POSSIBLE DM, VOMITING AND DEHYDRATED YESTERDAY (SCHEDULED FOR BG AND URINALYSIS TODAY) (ALSO SEVERE HYPERKALEMIA ON BLOOD WORK, MACHINE ERROR?) S/O: Cat is dull/depressed. Generalized muscle wasting. Drinking water, large amount of urine in (and out) if litterbox. Does not appear to be eating. Heart/lung auscult wnl. 06/15/17 12:48 Basic information Jacob is a neutered 11 year old brown tabby DSH with no known medical conditions. Owner has had Jacob for 11 years and is surrender him along with her littermate Ginger because of owner health. Socialization Jacob has lived with children age 6 and 18 and is relaxed and affectionate with them. Jacob plays gently with both children and adults. Around strangers Jacob is friendly and outgoing. Jacob has not lived with dogs and behavior is not known for interacting with them. Jacob has lived with other cats and is relaxed and affectionate with them. Jacob also plays gently with the other cats. Jacob does not have a bite or scratch history. Behavior In car rides Jacob is quiet and calm. Jacob is use to getting sponge bathes every couple of months and isn’t bothered by them. Jacob also allows his nails to be trimmed and enjoys being brushed. Jacob likes being picked up and held. When being placed in a carrier Jacob will go right in. For the new family to know Jacob was described as friendly affectionate and quiet with a medium activity level. When home with him, he will follow you around. Jacob enjoys playing with balls, strings, wand toys and mouse toys. He has a scratching post made of carpet and doesn’t scratch on anything in the home. Jacob r is litter box trained and uses a covered litter box with fresh step clumping litter. Jacob eats deli cats dry food twice a day. When its time for bed Jacob likes to sleep on the floor with his house mate Ginger. Behavior during intake. Jacob was social during intake he allowed to be collared with a loose wiggly body.
