Medical Summary 04/27/17 DVM exam. History – Brought in by owner. Per owner, cat has tested positive for FELV, and over the past 3 days has lost use of her hind legs. Microchip scan pos. for two microchips #981020017761686 and #985112008165341. Age 1.5 yrs. Observed behavior – Sweet, friendly, allows all handling. Evidence of cruelty – No. Evidence of trauma – No. O: BARH. mm=pink, sl. tacky, CRT<2 s. HR=180, RR=28. BCS=4/9. ORAL: Mild gingivitis. EENT: No oculonasal discharge, no sneezing. Ears clean AU. H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias. ABD/UG: Soft, non-painful. urinary bladder mod full, soft, non-painful. No palpable masses/organomegaly. Female, spay scar identified. MS/NEURO: Amb x 2 with forelimbs. Unable to stand or walk in hind limbs. Pos. withdrawal both hind limbs, pos. tail, anal, and perineal tone. No pain on limb, pelvic or spinal paplation. INTEG: Full, clean haircoat. No skin lesions or wounds. PLN: No enlargements noted. A: FELV positive young adult cat with bilateral hind limb paralysis. Paralysis DDx: trauma, infectious disease, degenerative disease, other. P: FELV/FIV test – positive for FELV. FVRCP, Rabies, pyrantel, and advantage. Buprenorphine 0.3 mg/ml 0.25 ml SQ administered House in medical area. Schedule for radiographs to assess for bony lesions. Monitor ability to urinate/defecate on her own.
