Behavior NotesWhen Jackie was being bathed, having her nails trimmed or if someone would pick her up and hold her, Jackie would struggle to run away. She is not bothered when someone put her into a carrier or disturbs her while sleeping.

For a New Family to KnowJackie is described as friendly, affectionate, mellow, shy, quiet. Jackie has a low activity level and likes to lounge around the house. In the home, Jackie liked to follow the owner around from room to room. Jackie was kept indoors only and is litter box trained. In the home, Jackie used a hooded litter box with clumping litter. Owner did not have a scratching post in the home and stated that when he first got Jackie, she would scratch on the furniture but then stopped. In the home, owner fed Jackie dry food only brand Science Diet.
Behavior Notes:Behavior during intake: Jackie had a soft and relaxed body during intake. Counselor was able to scan for a microchip, collar and take a picture without any issues.

Other notes: She struggles when being bathed, having her nails trimmed or if someone would pick her up and hold her
Tense and did not like being picked up. Hisses with extensive handling but is friendly and loves to lay in laps. Easily handle able. Did well for all medical handling and procedures

Jackie meows softly, then comes forward with a relaxed body to greet the assessor.
Reaction when softly spoken to:
Jackie chirps and rubs her entire body up against the kennel door.

Jackie seems curious of her surroundings and steps out the kennel.
Reaction to touch:
Jackie looks around and explores her environment, but stays close to the assessor and allows all handling. She perks up when pet along her back, purrs then climbs onto the assessor’s lap and solicits attention.
Reaction to being picked up:
Jackie was a bit tense when picked up, but she remains calm and allows all handling.

CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities

Medical Summary 04/26/17 DVM exam. History – Brought in by owner, no medical concerns noted. Microchip scan negative. Age 6 yrs. Observed behavior – Social and friendly, enjoys being petted over entire body, very relaxed for exam and handling. Evidence of cruelty or trauma – No. O: BARH. mm=pink, moist, CRT<2 s. HR=160, RR=purr. BCS=7/9. ORAL: Good dental condition, no oral lesions. EENT: No oculonasal discharge, no sneezing. H/L: Lungs clear, no murmurs/arrhythmias. ABD: Soft, non-painful, no masses/orgaomegaly. UG: Female, spay scar identified. MS: Amb x 4, no lameness. INTEG: Soft, full, clean haircoat. Appears to have been recently groomed with fur over body and perineum neatly trimmed. NEURO: No neurologic deficits. PLN: No enlargements noted. A: Apparently healthy 6 yr old spayed cat, overweight by approx. 2 lbs. P: Monitor while at BACC. Excellent prognosis.
