08/09/17 19:48 Basic Information: Jack is approximately a 6 years old cat. He was surrendered to MACC due to his previous owner passing away. He was being taken cared by a friend for 3 months. Socialization: Jack lived in isolation for 3 months after his owner passed away. He was fed and taken cared by a friend who did not live with him. He has not been around children or other pets during this time. He has no known bite history. During Intake: Jack was very vocal and urinated on himself. He yowl at the admissions counselor and he offered him food. He started slow blinking with the admissions counselor and decided to eat his food. The admissions counselor was then able to collar him. His ears were forward and tail rested on his side.

Came out to main compartment, sniffed hand, started rubbing against the bars. Leaned and arched into pets, went back to sleep in cubby. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: Jack immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Jack remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Jack head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Jack interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
