06/29/17 15:13 Basic Info J2 is a large gray DSH whose owner was not in good enough health to care for him. He was born at home and has never been to the vet before. Socialization J2 is shy around strangers and hides until they leave the house. It takes a couple of days of repetitively meeting the strangers to get used to them. He has never been around kids before. He lived in a home with another cat who was his brother and he got along well with him. He has never been around dogs before or bitten an animal or person. Behavior J2 does not scratch on furniture but does scratch on the walls. He has no litter box accidents at home. When being brushed J2 will ruin away as well as when someone is trying to pick him up and hold him. He is not bothered by being bothered in his sleep. New Family J2 has a low level of energy at home and likes to be in the same room as owners. He does not like to play with toys and is kept solely indoors. He sleeps on the floor and eats friskies and purina dry food once daily. He has an uncovered litter box with fresh step litter.He had a scratch post made of rough rope. Intake Behavior J2 hissed at counselor when he approached carrier. He growled and whined when touched but allowed all handling for collaring and scanning.

ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Timid KNOWN HISTORY: Lived Indoors Previously lived with: adults Behavior toward strangers: shy around strangers and hides until they leave the house Behavior toward cats: got along well with him Bite or Scratch history: none Litter box training: yes Energy level/descriptors: low level of energy EVALUATION: Cage Condition: No change Reaction to assessor: J2 remains neutral, crouched position on his cage bedding during the approach. Reaction to cage door opening: J2 becomes tense, tucked limbs, alert with normal shape eyes. Reaction to touch: During the touch J2 tucks his head, slowly blinks in place and remains immobile with no interest to petting. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: J2 may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
