KNOWN HISTORY: Ivy was brought in as a stray, so there is no information on her behavior in her previous home. Her finder noticed a wound on her leg and was able to wrap it up with a bandage. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Nervous, growling, but allowed all handling. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is messy Reaction to assessor: Ivy approaches, rubbing on cage door. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ivy is soft. Reaction to cage door opening: Ivy remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Ivy leans into petting, rolls on her side, solicits attention. Ivy becomes tense when her back is touched, however she enjoys head butting. Reaction to being picked up: Ivy allows this type of handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Ivy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. In spite of having a wound, she remains social and affectionate. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
