11/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Ice Cube was brought in without information on her behavioral tendencies in her previous home. She lived in a home with many cats. She was fearful during her initial medical exam, but allowed the medical team to conduct most handling. Reaction to assessor: Ice Cube was resting upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Ice Cube looks at the assessor with almond-shaped eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Ice Cube becomes stiff and alert, but remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Ice Cube focuses on the assessor’s hand and was hesitant of contact. She sniffs the hand when placed in front of her and allows gentle petting on her head and body, but she slowly shifts away in an attempt to avoid contact. Behavior Determination: Experienced Ice Cube tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
