Oral Exam: early gingivitis and moderate staining
Musculoskeletal: WNL BCS 5/9
Preliminary Assessment: FeLV+ cat without complication
Plan: DVM intake, eval for Sx
Intake behavior: Blue (allows some handling)

Hunter is approximately a 1 1/2 year old male orange tabby cat. Hunter lived with previous owner for 1 1/2 years. Hunter was surrendered because previous owner could no longer have pets where she was living. Hunter has no injuries or health problems and has not been taken to the vet recently.

Hunter previously lived with 1 adult and 10 cats.
How is this cat around strangers?
Hunter is shy for a few minutes around strangers but will eventually approach and sniff strangers and will allow pets.
How is this cat around children?
Hunter has not interacted with children.
How is this cat around other cats?
Hunter lived with 10 other cats and was very tolerant of them.
How is this cat around dogs?
Hunter has not interacted with dogs.
Hunter scratches on furniture and meows and cries during car rides. Hunter has never been given a bath and struggles when getting his nails trimmed. Hunter is not bothered when getting his coat brushed, when being put into a carrier, or when being disturbed when he sleeps. Hunter is not bothered when being picked up but will struggle to get away when he no longer wants to be carried.
Hunter has never tried to bite another animal or human.
Hunter has a medium energy level

Hunter has no known medical issues.
For a New Family to Know
Hunter is an affectionate, mellow, assertive, and talkative cat. Hunter likes to be in the same room as his owner. Hunter is an indoors cat only and was fed wet food every other day and free-fed dry food every day. Neil likes to sleep anywhere in the house and is likes to play with balls, string, and wand toys. Neil is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box with Feline Pine. Neil had a scratching post made out of cardboard.
Upon intake, Hunter allowed all handling but his body was a bit tense. Hunter allowed pets on the head and allowed counselor to pick him up.
