HUBERT – A1071442

***SAFE 05/16/16*** HUBERT is still just a kitten at a little over 1 year in age. To look at him, he doesn’t look like a stray… But that’s what they’ve tagged him as. He looks healthy (aside from a little cold – easily curable with antibiotics) but being stuck in small dirty cages with other sick cats leaves him very little chance that he wouldn’t get sick. He’s nervous….yet allows petting and handling. He should be at least AVERAGE RATED…But they’ve made it rough on him by giving him an EXPERIENCE rating! Please offer to FOSTER OR ADOPT HUBERT. You might think someone else will help so,” why you?” Because it’s very likely that if not for YOU, who then would HELP?

04/30/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Hubert and at the time he was lip licking at the back of the cage. Hubert body was curled up but he allowed petting all over. His tail was at the side and he appears nervous but slowly leans in for attention. Reaction to assessor: Hubert does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Hubert does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Hubert watches the assessor nervously Reaction to touch: Hubert allows petting and attention with a slow approach Try picking cat up: Hubert is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience Hubert was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying shy behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. watches nervously as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach he relaxed. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
