Heathcliff came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Heathcliff allowed all handling. Reaction to assessor: Heathcliff is sitting mid-cage, soft and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Heathcliff approaches the front of the cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Heathcliff remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Heathcliff head-butts the assessor, leans into petting, enjoys petting all over. Reaction to pick up: Heathcliff is calm during this type of handling. Placement Determination: Beginner Heathcliff approaches the assessor, solicits petting and attention and allows all handling. Heathcliff is exhibiting behavior suited to beginning cat parents.

S: Stray cat brought in by ACC driver O: BAR severe dental calc and gingivitis; missing left maxillary canine; no nasal discharge seen OD- conjucntival hyperemia and chemosis, green mucoid discharge AU- mild waxy debris no murmur, regular rhythm lungs clear and eupneic abdomen- snp, no masses palpated MN BCS 5/9; ambulatory severe scabbing, excoriations, patchy alopecia and lichenification of skin seen throughout body/head; flea dirt present microchip scan negative A: severe dermatitis- R/O flea allergy vs atopy vs mites vs dermatophytosis vs other severe dental disease conjunctivitis OD P: gave convenia injection 0.47 mls SQ mls (x) gave capstar and applied activyl erythromycin ophtalmic x 7 days add oral prednisolone if skin is not improving recommend full bloodwork and dental
