06/19/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Hamilton was brought into our care center as a stray so there is no previous history available MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: very sweet, allows full exam ENRICHMENT NOTES: 06/16/17 Meowing loudly and rubbing his entire body up against the cage bars. Tail erect, loose, relaxed body. He leans in for attention, nuzzles against hand. Very sweet! Doesn’t mind being held, calm and relaxed. Social and friendly. 06/17/17 Seems less active today. There was vomit/ bile on the bogus paper. He comes over when called, his movements are slow. Very affectionate, constantly head butting and brushing against my body. Calm and relaxed. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is slightly re-arranged Reaction to assessor: Hamilton is lying relaxed in the back of his kennel as the assessor approaches. Reaction when softly spoken to: Hamilton makes eye contact and vocalizes softly when spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Hamilton stands up and comes forward with a raised tail when the cage door opens. Reaction to touch: Hamilton leans into petting along his head and body with tail raised. Reaction to being picked up: Hamilton allows pick up with a tense body. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate VOCAL: Talkative CHARACTER TYPE: Affectionate, Social RECOMMENDATIONS: – Experienced cat parent Hamilton is showing behavior that would be appropriate for beginner pet parents (solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting) but due to a bite incident that happened with a potential adopter we recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
