GRACIE – A1085216
Safe - 8-17-2016 Brooklyn
**SAFE 08/17/16** GRACIE IS A 2 YEAR OLD WHO IS ALREADY SPAYED – BUT SHE NEEDS A HOME NOW OR SHE WILL DIE! GRACIE was brought into the shelter as a stray. She is spayed so that tells us she is most likely a lost or abandoned pet. GRACIE is afraid, as any cat would be, and needs a hero tonight to get her out of harm’s way. She is not sick with the usual shelter cold, but just not in the friendly mood – for which she was punished with a RESCUE ONLY rating. GRACIE allowed handling on intake so she will most likely be just fine with a little TLC and patience. GIVE GRACIE A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT BY CONTACTING A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HER TO SAFETY!!

08/15/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Gracie looks at the assessor with wide eyes as she hisses and growls When spoken quietly: Gracie continues hisses and growls Reaction to door cage opening: Gracie become very fearful Reaction to touch: Gracie attempts to swat and does not allow any petting or attention Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: NewHope Gracie was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Gracie seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. Gracie is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
