12/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gouda was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. Reaction to assessor: Gouda was wrapped up, hiding in her blanket at the back of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: Gouda doesn’t move or react when the assessor tries to coax her forward. Reaction to cage door opening: Gouda remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Gouda’s eyes widen and she quickly shifts away to the back of the kennel. She presses her body up against the back wall of the kennel, lip licks and tries to avoid eye contact. Her body is tense when touched, she seems uncomfortable and she looks around the kennel for an exit. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Gouda tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
