03/25/16 14:28 Basic Information: Gordo is a six month old white and black male domestic shorthair. He was surrendered along with his littermates due to owner moving into a home that does not accept pets. He is described as shy, mellow and quiet. Socialization: Gordo has lived with four adults and one baby. Around strangers he is shy and owner stated he will generally not greet visitors and stay hidden. He was separated from the baby and has not been around children. He lived with six other cats in the home and is described as playful, affectionate and plays exuberantly. He lived with a small breed dog and owner stated he was relaxed around the dog but the other dog did not like the cats. Behavior: Gordo was not bathed or had his nails trimmed by owner. He was not brushed and is not bothered when he is held. He will struggle when placed in a carrier and will try to flee. Owner stated he is litterbox trained and did not have accidents outside the litterbox. For a new family to know: Gordo has been kept only indoors, his activity level is described as high. Owner stated he likes to explore and is the adventureous one out of his littermates. He likes to play with mice and stuffed toys. He eats dry food Meow Mix brand and is free fed. He uses a uncovered litterbox and crystals litetr. He had a vertical yarn scratching post in the home. Upon intake Gordo was calm and had a loose body. He allowed all handling, counselor was able to collar, scan (negative) and photograph.

As per previous owner, Gordo has lived with four adults and one baby. Around strangers he is shy. He will generally not greet visitors and stay hidden. He was separated from the baby and has not been around children. He lived with six other cats in the home and is described as playful, affectionate and plays exuberantly. He lived with a small breed dog and he was relaxed around the dog. Reaction to assessor: Gordo does not come to front but looks at you relaxed and friendly When spoken quietly: Gordo does not come to front but looks at you relaxed and friendly Reaction to door cage opening: Gordo remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Gordo allows petting and slowly comes to coming the front Try picking cat up: Gordo is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Average At the time of the assessment Gordo was displaying shy behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Gordo is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
