KNOWN HISTORY:
Goldberg was brought in without information on his behavioral tendencies in his previous home. He nuzzled against the counselors hand during intake and allowed them to pick him up. He allowed all handling and hissed when placed into a carrier, but would nuzzle against the counselor’s hand again when petted.

come forward but perks up when I open the cage door. I slowly approached and he leaned in for head rubs, allowed petting all over. Social and friendly with me during our interaction.

Attention-seeking, at the front of the kennel. Allows all handling, including pick-up. Always right at front, leaning in for petting, gives gentle head-butts. Seems a little anxious, likely due to still being unsure about his circumstances, but social and friendly.
03/06/17
Sitting at front of kennel, relaxed, slow blinking and purring. Appreciates attention, friendly when I open kennel door and begin petting him. Calm and quiet when I pick him up and hold him. Sweet, friendly cat. Seems people-oriented, showing a little interest in toys and catnip.
EVALUATION:
Cage Condition: Cage is re-arranged
Reaction to assessor: Goldberg was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Goldberg chirps and approaches the front, rubbing on the cage door.
Reaction to cage door opening: Goldberg remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Goldberg head-butts, leans in for rubs, and nudges the assessor’s hand with his head. He begins to purr and is very sweet throughout the interaction.
Reaction to being picked up: Goldberg remains calm and allows handling.

VOCAL: Somewhat chatty

MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities
Assessment: hemtoma, otitis secondary to mites

shoudl have surgery for hemtoma (very easy surgery)
ear cleaning and tresaderm or otibiotic bid for ears
good prognosis
