**SAFE 06/10/16**George is a 2 year old short hair tabby mix surrendered to the ACC by his former owner for house soiling. It’s no surprise that’s the reason because the former owner claimed that they had too many cats. Probably poor George couldn’t find room in the litter box for himself! He was a little nervous during intake but allowed some handling. He’s a cats cat and prefers to be by himself playing with his toys. He’s not a fan of being picked up by strangers so the ACC must be his biggest nightmare. Please apply to foster or adopt the boy. With some love and understanding, he will find his way to become the cat he should be.

06/07/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with George and at the time his body lowered in the litter box. George tilts his head and lip licks. He backs away slowly with a stiff body. George is wary of his surroundings. Reaction to assessor: George was watching the assessor from the litter box When spoken quietly: George continued to watch the assessor with wide eyes Reaction to door cage opening: George remains motionless Reaction to touch: George allows petting with a slow approach but remains tense Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child At the time of the assessment George was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children.
