Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, George has lived with adults and an 11 year old child and plays rough with them. George has never been introduced to another cat or dog and tends to scratch on the furniture. He enjoys being given a bath, having his nails trimmed and being brushed. George loves playing with balls, string and stuffed toys. George has been monitored by the enrichment facilitator and reports that he plays rough, and then solicits attention. George will hiss when he’s had enough. Reaction to assessor: George is relaxed at the front of the kennel. Reaction when softly spoken to: George reaches out to the assessor with paws. His claws are out and his tail is up. Reaction to cage door opening: George is calm and relaxed. Reaction to touch: George reaches out trying to grab the assessors hand and will bite. He plays rough then calms down quickly allowing petting. George rubs up against the assessors hand and allows petting all over. George is reported to have a history of scratching furniture and should go to a home that can safely cat-proof furniture in the home. We advise future adopters to make sure to provide mentally and physically stimulating toys to keep George occupied when left alone. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child George solicits attention and tolerates petting but may play roughly. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
