Hiding inside den with sibling, becomes alert when den is shifted to get a better view. Looks around and appears panicked, looking to escape. Squeezes into back corner and shifts away from hand, hissing, but tolerating petting. Very fearful and under-socialized.

Dexmedetomidine 0.5 mg/ml – 0.02 ml IM, once.
Ketamine 100 mg/ml – 0.05 ml IM, once.
Anesthesia Notes:
Size 3.0 fr. ET tube placed, maintained general anesthesia throughout procedure on variable isoflurane and variable O2. Used (non-rebreathing) system with 0.5 L bag.
24 g IVC placed in RFL cephalic vessel.
Intraoperative IV LRS at 5-10mL/kg/hr at 11 mL/hr
NSAID:
Simbadol 1.8mg/mL injectable, 0.15 mL SQ, once, for pain relief, given post-operatively.

Crouched in den with sibling, almost entirely out of sight. Hissed quietly when door opened, shifted to stay out of sight when den rotated. Moved around to avoid touch, still hissing, then hunched in place and tolerated pets, quieted down. Ate treats immediately after door closed, but not willing to come forward for more.

Avoids contact, paces back and forth from cage to cage, hisses at the hand and stiffens up when touched. Then runs into the cat den to hide.
6/14/18
Crouched in den with sibling, tense, eyes dilated. Hissed when door opened. Shifted out of sight when den rotated, held completely immobile when touched. Slowly crept out for treats when left alone, fled back in whenever approached.

Meghan remains tense, crouched position with head tucked at the back of the cage.

Meghan becomes alert with eyes wide open, pupils dilated.

Meghan began to anxiously look around, ears erect and forward.

Meghan avoids contact, hisses at the assessor’s hand then tightly curls up against the back wall. She accepts the touch on the head and body then quickly runs away to hide in the cat den.
