SAFE 2/11/17 A volunteer writes: I couldn’t take my eyes off this sweet little beige and white scrunch face!! And pinky pink nose!! Be still my heart! Scrumptiousness doesn’t get much better than this sweet young man who’s human sadly passed away. At first hello, he seemed shy. Well I was truly mistaken! Wiggles and waggles later, this little guy couldn’t get enough pets or sweet talkin’. If you’re looking for an irresistible cutie pie, look no further! Gala’s your guy!

O: BAR, estimated 5% dehydrated. BCS 5/9, MMs pink and moist
EENT: No discharge OU, AU, nose. Severe gingivitis.
PLNs: Not enlarged.
H/L: NSR, NMA. Eupnic, quiet lung sounds.
Abd: Tense. No masses palpated
M/S/I: Amb x4. No skin lesions noted.
A: Older pt with mild dehydration – R/O stress, kidney disease, thyroid disease, other
Short-term prognosis: Good
P: CBC/chemistry and rabies vx.

MSI: IGF, ambx 4, BCS = 5/9.
CV: HR= 186, 2/6 murmur on mid left side.
L: clr and eup.
Abd: SNP but pulls away quickly.
UG: 2 testicles.
- A) Geriatric 9 yo intact male.
Heart murmur – low grade
Mod ddz.
- P) Permanent ACC waiver for ACC but cat could be good candidate for private practice surgery with appropriate pre-op cardiac work-up and intra-op care.
Prognosis: good.

Cage Condition: no change
Reaction to assessor: Was calm and relaxed when assessor approached
Reaction when softly spoken to: Solicited attention, perked up a bit and came forward
Reaction to cage door opening: Stood up and came to meet assessor at the door
Reaction to touch: Reacted favorably to being rubbed on his head and chin. Gala seems to like his body being rubbed as well.
Reaction to being picked up: Allowed a “quick pick me up” but swiftly returned to his kennel

Behind litter box today, eyes fully dilated. Leaned very slightly into pets and started lip licking. After a very long time, kept body low and slowly started to explore cage. Came to the front, sniffed hand through the bars. Still seems really uncomfortable. Sprayed feliway.

Huge improvement! Resting on bedding, soft eyes and body. Stood and came to the front on approach, leaned and arched into pets. Started rubbing against cage furniture, then moved to main compartment and rubbed against bars. Friendly and confident now. Ok to remove.
