09/14/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gaga was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She displayed distance-increasing behaviors upon intake and was very nervous during her initial medical exam, attempting to flee. Reaction to assessor: Gaga becomes stiff and alert upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Gaga focuses on the assessor with dilated eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Gaga remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Gaga sniffs the assessor’s hand and tolerates gentle petting on her head, but slowly tries to shift away to avoid contact with her tail lowered. She is very tense throughout the interaction, but allows petting along her body. Behavior Determination: Experienced, No Children Gaga tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
