***SAFE 09/04/16***FRANCESCA BROUGHT IN BY NYPD AFTER OWNER DIED…THEN HAULED OFF TO JAIL!! NOT THE COUNTY JAIL..BUT THE ACC, WHICH COMPARATIVELY, THE ACC IS WORSE!! BECAUSE AT THE END OF THEIR “SENTENCE” THESE CATS DON’T WALK OUT THE DOOR! THEY ARE HAULED OUT TO THE DUMPSTER IN A TRASH BAG!! She’s just 8 years old and already SPAYED. She wasn’t able to go to the owners, “next of kin” because they had “personal problems!” Yet this poor gal DID in fact live with the next of kin for the first year of her life…then spent the remaining time with her owner. She’s AVERAGE RATED and cute as can be! PLEASE, OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT FRANCESCA TODAY!

08/17/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
08/17/16 14:15 Basic Information Francesca was found by the NYPD when her owner passed away. The next of kin are unable to reclaim her due to personal problems. The last time she went to a vet was 8 years ago when she was spayed. Next of kin remembered that Francesca’s owner noticed that she was vomiting every three days or so after eating. Socialization Francesca lived with the next of kin for the first year of her life. There she lived with two adults and two large dogs that she tolerated. She has spent the past 8 years of her life living only with her owner (a senior). Around strangers she will hide for a few minutes, but will come out if the stranger is a woman. She will stay hidden or will hiss and spit when approached by men. She has never lived with another cat. Behavior Francesca will use her litter box if it is scooped daily. She will both urinate and defecate outside the box when it is not clean. The next of kin does not know Francesca’s behavior during baths, nail trims, brushing, or being placed in a carrier. For a New Family to Know Francesca is described as being medium energy, shy and affectionate to people she knows. She loved to follow her owner everywhere she went. She did not play with toys, but did enjoy using cardboard scratching posts. She was fed dry meow mix and used an uncovered llitterbox with clumping litter. Behavior During Intake She was a bit timid (making her body seem smaller, open mouth breathing, and vocalizing) but allowed the counselor to touch her head and pet her. She nuzzled her hand into the pet and began to purr. She was scanned for a microchip (negative) but left in the cage for her photo to give her a chance to calm down.
