GONE 5/23/18 Precious 4-Week-Old Flower Has Hind Limb Paralysis! @BACC. This adorable little kitten has hind limb paralysis, but she’s eating on her own and appears to have no issues using the bathroom. She doesn’t have any obvious fractures, and isn’t painful in her legs or spinal area.

Oral Exam: deciduous dentition
PLN: No enlargements noted
H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic
ABD: Non painful, moderately distended, doughy abdomen, no masses palpated
U/G: female, no discharge
MSI: Non-ambulatory in hind limbs, possible crepitus elicited on manipulation of both coxofemoral joints, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat
CNS: Mentation appropriate; No withdrawls in hind limbs, deep pain negative in hind limbs
Rectal: normal externally
Two view pelvic radiographs: No overt pelvic fx identified
Assessment
1) Non-ambulatory in hindlimbs- based on age, suspect congenital defect vs less likely micro fracture of pelvis vs neuropathy from trauma
Prognosis: Fair to guarded- depends on if can void on own long term
Plan: Alerted NH- seek placement
SURGERY:
Permanent waiver due to underweight/underage, congenital defect
