I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 05/23/2017 from NY 11385, owner surrender reason stated was PET HEALTH.

05/25/17 Monitor condition S/O: QAR. ~8% dehydration. Eating well. Allows all handling. Small amount of diarrhea on bedding EENT: Eyes sunken, no ocular or nasal discharge MS: Unable to stand on own, no palpable fractures, no pain ellicited on palpation of spine or long bones, holds head in ventroflexion INTEG: Dirty hair coat A: R/O neurologic disease -primary neurologic disease vs neoplasia vs other — stable condition at this time P: Continue with current treatment plan. 05/26/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Flan was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very shy, tense, Wrapped in towel for exam and treatments, allowed all handling. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 05/24/17 Limited interaction due to medical condition. Not able to stand without falling back over. Covered floor with blanket. Allows all petting. Sprayed feliway. 05/25/17 Hunched over in kennel, head upside down on floor. I pick him up and try to lay him in a more comfortable position. Allows all petting. Limited interaction due to medical condition. Sprayed feliway. 05/26/17 At the front of the kennel with his head pressed against the door. Wobbles around when trying to move. He’s not able to stand up without falling over. He does lean in and accept petting. Didn’t show any signs of discomfort when touched. Remained calm when held, wasn’t tense at all. Allows all handling. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Laid back VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Calm Please note that this cat has a severe medical condition so we may not be seeing any true behavior and behavior may change when the cat’s medical condition improves. BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Flan interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
