07/29/17 13:54 Basic Information: Harley is a 2 month old neutered male that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Owner has had Harley for a few days but had to surrender due to personal problems. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers Harley is friendly and plays gently. He has not been around children, other cats or dogs therefore behavior is unknown. Harley does not have a bite history. Behavior: In the car, Harley usually meows. Owner has never tried to bathe him, trim his nails, brush his coat or have anyone disturb him while he was sleeping so behavior is unknown. He is afraid of being picked up and held and being put into a carrier and will try to run away. For a New Family to Know: Harley is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy around new people and quiet. He has a medium activity level and likes to play with string toys. In the home, he liked to follow the owner around. He was fed both wet and dry food brands Science Diet and Fancy Feast. Owner kept Harley indoors only and stated that he is litter box trained. He used an uncovered litter box with crystals litter in the home. Owner did not have a scratching post in the home for Harley to use and stated that he did not scratch on any furniture. Behavior during intake: Harley had a soft and relaxed body during intake. Counselor was able to scan for a mc, collar and take a picture without any issues.

Name and A#: Fez A1119028 Date: 7/24/2017 KNOWN HISTORY: Fez came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Other notes: During intake, Fez allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: During his initial medical exam, Fez was friendly and relaxed. EVALUATION: Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Fez was resting in his cubby. Reaction when softly spoken to: Fez lifted his head and looked at the assessor with soft eyes and soft body, blinking slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Fez became tense and backed away slightly. Reaction to touch: Fez sniffed the assessor’s hand and gently leaned into touch with soft body. Reaction to being picked up: Fez became slightly tense but allowed pick up, and then became relaxed and allowed petting. When touched on his stomach and paws, Fez became uncomfortable and retreated back to his cubby. After returning to his cage, he looked at the assessor with soft eyes and allowed petting again. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Sweet, Curious, Calm BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Average Fez interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
