09/20/2017 WEB MEMO
KNOWN HISTORY: Felix was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very sweet but nervous. Allowed all medical handling without a fight. Little restraint needed ENRICHMENT NOTES: 09/10/17 Lying in litterbox with a low body, face hidden behind litterbox. Ears are tilted. He tolerates petting along his head and body, remaining still, and begins to lean in for cheek rubs. Continues to warm up with further interaction and raises his butt each time my hand passes along his back. Head-butts kennel wall and stands up to allow more petting with continued interaction. He crouches back down when someone new enters the room – nervous and focused on new environment. 09/11/17 Lying in litterbox with a tense body, tail wrapped around feet. Face is tense and ears are titled. Pupils are dilated. He warms up once touched and raises his rear, allowing touch along his head and body. Leans in and stands up after a few moments, raising his tail and continuing to lean in for petting. He walks out of his litterbox and approaches the front of his kennel. Body is relaxed and he allows further petting while leaning against my arms and head-butting my hand. Very sweet, building more confidence daily. He crouches back down into his litterbox after I’ve closed the cage door, tail wrapped around body again.
