Behavior Assessment Date: 9/30/2017 Retest Date: Retest Reason: Next Test Date: KNOWN HISTORY: Faith was brought in as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Pt yowled, howled, bit the net many times and was very difficult to handle. ENRICHMENT NOTES: 9/28/17 In den, started deep growling on approach. Occasionally peeked head out, eyes dilated, still growling. Left alone for now. Cage Condition: Cage is neat Reaction to assessor: Faith remains neutral, lying down on her cage bedding during the approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Faith meows attention, soft body. Reaction to cage door opening: Faith engages with tail up, ears erect and forward. Reaction to touch: Faith head bunts the assessor’s hand and purrs, but began to mildly nip then increase distance while becoming cautious with her surroundings while she low growls. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Mellow VOCAL: Quiet CHARACTER TYPE: Social Curious Independent BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: Experienced, adult only Behavior Asilomar TM – Treatable-Manageable BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Faith is social and affectionate but appears to be easily overstimulated. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Faith becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance.
