08/11/2017 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
KNOWN HISTORY: Ethel was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: Very friendly, vocal, rubbing, and purring ENRICHMENT NOTES: 08/09/17 At front of kennel vocalizing. She remains in the front as I open the kennel door and allows petting along her head and body, leaning in with her tail raised. Gobbled up treats – loves Friskies puffs. Friendly, allows all petting. Doing great after first day! 08/10/17 Sitting crouched in front of kennel, head lowered onto floor. She lifts her head as I open the kennel door. Allows petting along her head and body, repositioning herself so that she’s lying down instead of crouched. Makes eye contact with soft eyes and leans in gently for petting. Seems lethargic today. I pet her for a while and she lowers her head back down and closes her eyes. 08/11/17 Lying down by the front of the cage. She perks up, meows softly then rubs her body against the cage door. Tail erect, relaxed body. Vocal and very affectionate. She leans in for petting, gives head butts and continues meowing. Such a sweet old gal. She climbs onto my lap and nuzzles against my hand. Allows all handling-soft body when held. ACTIVITY LEVEL: Lively VOCAL: Talkative CHARACTER TYPE: People Oriented, Affectionate, Sweet BEHAVIOR SUMMARY: Beginner Ethel interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
