EP A1126015 – 3 yr. neutered black/white cat, stray:
EP came in as a stray so history is unknown, allowed for all handling by counselor with no struggle.
Finders stated that they have been feeding this cat for aprox. 3 months, and recently he has been throwing up and become lethargic. They believe it might have previously belonged to someone and it was let go as it sits outside their house and cries.
MEDICAL:
Xrays: Good abdominal detail, small intestines are plicated, no obvious radio-opaque foreign body, ++ feces in lower GI tract. Rest of findings are within normal limits.
CBC: within normal limits
Chem 21: mild hyperglycemia (186 mg/dl, stress), remaining values within normal limits.
TT4: normal
A: suspect string foreign body, no material noted under tongue
P: recommend surgical referral and abdominal exploratory as soon as possible today. Spoke with NH regarding placement. Prognosis is fair to good depending on surgical outcome and intestinal health. Stray without any previous history available, unsure how long he has been vomiting.
