**SAFE 04/26/16** Pregnant cats do not have an easy time of it at the ACC, as ENCORE and DIGIT would attest to if anyone bothered to ask them what they thought of the ACC experience. These pretty girls are understandably concerned for their own safety, as well as for the safety of their unborn kittens, so it’s logical that neither mama cat has tried to suck up to the ACC staff. The ACC think that ENCORE is definitely pregnant, they think that DIGIT is most likely pregnant, and they think it would be best for everyone if both cats were killed shortly after noon, tomorrow. DIGIT has a NEW HOPE rating, ENCORE has an EXPNOCHILD rating, and anyone who is interested in foster/adoption can message the Urgent Help Desk at [email protected] for assistance. Please pledge toward their care and please share their stories, and save DIGIT and ENCORE tonight!

04/20/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Our enrichment facilitator has interacted with Encore and at the time she allows contact but has wide eyes. Encore shifts away and attempts to flee. Reaction to assessor: Encore does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Encore does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Encore remains motionless Reaction to touch: Encore tries to avoid touch by moving around the cage. Eventually show allows petting but remains uncomfortable Try picking cat up: Did not attempt Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Encore was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little and I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. We recommend that this cat goes to a home with experienced cat parents without children.
