ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 12/17/17 Curled up on bedding, dozing, eyes almost closed. Woke when door opened, leaned forward to sniff hand, started eating offered treats. Paused briefly to lean into pets, purred. 12/19/17 [Clicker training] Emily was lying down by the back with a low body posture. She lowers her body even more when approached, but sniffs temptation treat. She was hesitant to eat it initially, but started to eat it when pet. Rewarded her each time she allows petting and she warms up fairly quickly, leaning in for rubs and inching towards the assessor to interact. Although she seems to appreciate attention, she emits a low grumble and seems wary of her surroundings. Needs more time to settle in adoption. 12/21/17 [Clicking training] Emily was crouched over in her cubby. She looks around with dilated eyes and is wary of her surroundings. Rewarded her each time she allowed petting and she slowly inches forward, rubbing against my arm. She focuses on surroundings and doesn’t eat tuna right away until she feels comfortable. She also emits a growl during the interaction, but it doesn’t appear to be distance-increasing behavior. She may still be conflicted and unsure, but is very sweet.

Reaction to assessor:: Emily remains tense, crouched position hiding in the cage cubby during the approach.
Reaction when softly spoken to:: Emily eyes were wide, looking around at sudden noises.
